Original Articles

An original article reports novel research findings, usually structured with introduction, methodology, results, and discussion, conclusions and bibliography. Its purpose is to communicate new knowledge that advances understanding in a specific scientific field. These manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review to ensure quality, originality, and validity.

Data Articles

A data article describes and makes available to the scientific community unpublished datasets of value for research in meteorological sciences. Its aim is to facilitate reproducibility and scientific advancement through the systematic sharing of data. These manuscripts undergo editorial review only, not double-blind peer review.

Review Articles

A review article analyzes, synthesizes, and discusses the existing literature on a given topic, offering a comprehensive and critical overview of the state of the art. It does not present new experimental findings but organizes and evaluates published evidence. These manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.

Letters to the Editor

A letter to the editor is a short text in which readers comment on, critique, or add to articles previously published in the journal, or raise reflections on topics of general interest in the field. Its purpose is to foster academic debate. These contributions are subject only to editorial review, not to double-blind peer review.

Short communications

A short communication reports preliminary results, research advances, or relevant findings that need rapid dissemination. It is usually shorter than an original article but maintains scientific rigor. These manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.

Case Reports

A case report describes particular situations, experiences, or professional practices that provide relevant insights for the field. They usually present a unique or unusual case with discussion of theoretical or practical implications. These manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.

Editorial

An editorial or introduction reflects the viewpoint of the editorial board or invited experts on relevant issues in the discipline, or serves as a presentation of a journal issue or section. It does not contain original research and is subject only to editorial review, not to double-blind peer review.

Technical Notes

A technical note reports methodological innovations, procedures, tools, or practical applications that improve research or practice in a specific area. It is shorter than an original article and focuses on specific technical aspects. These manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.

Book reviews

A book review provides a critical assessment and summary of recent publications (books, reports, software) relevant to the meteorological sciences. Its goal is to inform the academic community about new bibliographic resources and reference materials. These contributions undergo editorial review only, not double-blind peer review.

Weather and Climate

This thematic section groups contributions related to weather forecasts, weather analysis, climatology, and studies on climate variability. It may include various types of documents addressing operational, applied, or research aspects on these topics. The review process (double-blind or editorial) will depend on the type of document submitted.
