Abstract

A new methodology has been developed, which allow to reprocess actinometric  observations after a postcalibration process have been conducted to the operative actinometric stations. This methodology will increase considerably the quality of actinometric observations, therefore have proposed two quality levels for this type of data. The first data quality level corresponds to actinometric observations processed with the initial calibration factors. The second data quality level correspond to reprocessed data once the postcalibration process has been conducted to the actinometric stations. It also proposes the establishment of an annual cycle of calibrations, which should include the postcalibration procedure, which will result in increasing the quality of the data. For this research we used the metadata Actinometric Camaguey Station for the period from January 1, 1981 to present. Were determined variations in the irradiance values measures for two time periods, one considered as short, which took into account all the changes in the calibration factors and other considered as the long period, taking into account the criteria based on variation of tolerance factor. It showed the need for a study on the validity of the tolerance values hitherto used in the network of stations.
