Abstract

In the research, an analysis of the origin, evolution and trajectory of tropical storm Laura is carried out. The synoptic situation that favored the storm moving with a course close to the west northwest was identified, crossing the national territory. The variables direction and force of the wind, precipitation and pressure at sea level were evaluated in the meteorological stations of Artemisa and Mayabeque, during the passage of the storm. The results indicated that the most significant wind gust in Artemisa was 99km / h reported by the Güira de Melena meteorological station, while in Mayabeque it was 120km / h at the Batabanó station. As for the coastal floods, they were light and moderate, but they were strong in Cajío where they had a range of up to 1200m.
