Abstract

In this case study, an analysis is made of the main impacts of Hurricane Michael in the province of Artemisa. The formation and trajectory of the meteor is described, as well as the warnings made by the forecast group and the impact of wind, rain and sea action is analyzed independently. The data of the meteorological stations of the territory and of the Hydraulic Resources network, infrared and visible images of the GOES 16 satellite, departure of forecast models, analysis of the sea surface temperature, as well as the information issued by the means of communication were used communication of the territory. Most significant with Michael were the coastal floods that reached more than a kilometer inland in Guanímar and the rains that were strong and even locally intense where the accumulated exceeded 200mm of rainfall.
