Comparison between calculated and actual soundings of the atmosphere in the Province of Camagüey, Cuba

Abstract

A comparison was made with data from the Air Resources Laboratory Archives (ARL), of the probes calculated through the model: Global Data Assimilation System (GDAS), with data from soundings of the atmosphere in the province of Camagüey, by the station (SR2K2). For them, descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used. In the work the belonging to the same sample of the data series of the rainy and less rainy period of the years 2013-2014 was evaluated, the interpretation and comparative evaluation of the series studied, calculated versus real, was made. The results indicate that the calculated probes are representative in the study area and can be used for the operative work and future investigations since they are of great applicability because they are easy to obtain for any region, when information of the real survey is not available.
