Meteorological summary of the influence of the subtropical storm Alberto on the province of Ciego de Ávila on May 26, 2018

Abstract

In this case report it refers to the behavior of the weather over the province of Ciego de Ávila under the effects of the cloudy bands that accompanied the subtropical storm Alberto, the first cyclone formed in the Atlantic Ocean basin in 2018 (out of season). Data from meteorological stations of Ciego de Ávila, the Provincial Delegation of Hydraulic Resources, satellite images of GOES 16, the meteorological radar of Camagüey, as well as information from press media and maps obtained on the Internet through institutional websites were used of meteorological prestige. The most negative effects of this subtropical storm in the province were the damages caused by 7 tornadoes and the locally intense rains that occurred on May 26, 2018
