Abstract
Este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar y evaluar el comportamiento de la sequía, aplicando para ello el Programa Monitor, que incluye diferentes índices que permiten identificar el inicio, duración, severidad y extensión de la sequía en términos hidrometeorológicos en la cuenca Cacoyugüín y así conocer los impactos ocasionados al sector hídrico. A través de los resultados de identificación y análisis de la sequía y de los impactos ocasionados al sector hídrico por la sequía, se pueden establecer medidas específicas que permitan a los tomadores de decisiones mitigar los efectos negativos de la misma y reducir el riesgo por tal evento extremo.
