Verificación del pronóstico de la actividad ciclónica en el Atlántico norte para el 2005.

Abstract
Los pronósticos para el 2005 calificaban de activa a la temporada ciclónica. Esas predicciones se hicieron sobre la base del método de carácter estadístico creado por Ballester et al (2003), el cual toma en cuenta el comportamiento de las condiciones oceánicas - atmosféricas fundamentales que regulan la actividad ciclónica en la cuenca atlántica. Para ese año se asumió que los valores de la temperatura superficial del mar en el Pacífico Ecuatorial Oriental mantendrían sus valores dentro de la norma durante la temporada, lo cual sugería que la circulación troposférica superior (10 - 12 kilómetros de altura) sería propicia para el desarrollo y la intensificación de los ciclones tropicales
