Abstract
With the aim of studying the influence of some meteorological variables on the index of infestation of H. virescens Fab. under not controlled conditions (of field) in black tobacco in the sun, the values of the infestation index coming from the field evaluations were used carried out in several campaigns and they were related with different meteorological variables. It was observed that the early crops should be prioritized and you intermediate and to avoid the late ones to avoid the high populations of the plague. In most of the observed campaigns, the infestation index of H. virescens Fab., directly proportional with the half temperature of the air and the cloudy cover. It is perceived that the one accumulated of precipitations it is inversely proportional to the infestation index, when the meteorological variable presents inferior values to 47 mm distributed in the dozen. Also, the increment of the speed of the wind causes a reduction in the values of the infestation index index in most of the analyzed campaigns.
