Abstract

A one-dimensional stationary numerical cloud model is tune up for application in the experiments of artificial rain increase by seeding clouds project, in daily decision-making, in declaring experimental day, in experimental data evaluations and in the hypothesis corroboration amongst others. The microphysics parameterization considers conversion and collection processes based on the water partition in solid and liquid cloud particles and equal hydrometeors composition. The air speed vertical profi le in the cloud is obtained using the conservation equation of momentum, taking into account the acceleration caused by buoyancy, the loss due to the environment entrainment and the water weight held by the current upstream. The glaciogenic reagent application is simulated in the model. The model output consists in profi les of vertical velocity, temperature, mixing ratio, cloud, rain water, total ice water and radar refl ectivity factors, as well as the maximum height reached by the cloud. For the sensitivity analysis, the model was run with Camagüey radiosondes for experimental days in 2005 and 2006 years. Then, these days was evaluated with radar data. The obtained results allow proposing the model for operational use in decision-making and in the seeding evaluation during seeding clouds experiment.
